Leaflet Web Maps Made Easy

If you had asked me a year ago about the idea of making a web map, I probably would have laughed because that’s just how hopeless I am when it comes to such things. I took a mandatory class in HTML 20 years ago and learned how to draw a box and things had stopped there. But truth is, that it isn’t impossible. In fact, it’s incredibly easy!

If you are interested in learning how to do Leaflet, I definitely recommend checking out the course by Penn State: Geog 585 Open Web Mapping. I also encourage you to learn more about the story of Leafmap itself. Maxime Lenormand has an absolutely amazing podcast, Minds Behind Maps and his interview with the creator of Leaflet, Volodymyr Agafonkin is nothing sort of fascinating.

I also highly recommend checking out videos by GIS Solutions, where you can find an entire playlist of incredibly helpful and easy to follow tutorials.

If you are interested in publishing your map on GitHub here is an excellent video.
